Mio Man Arrested for Alleged Child Abuse

A Mio man is facing charges after allegedly attacking a child.

Michigan State Police say they were called in November for a report of a man punching and choking the victim. Child Protective Services was notified and the suspect, 38–year–old Timothy Peterson, was interviewed. A report was given to the Oscoda County Prosecutor’s Office and an arrest warrant was issued on January 4. Peterson turned himself in that same day.

He was arraigned last week and faces one count of child abuse of the third degree and one count of the same charge in the presence of another child.
