Possible Double Homicide in Oscoda County
Michigan State Police are reporting a possible double homicide in Oscoda County.
On Monday, the Oscoda County Sheriff’s Sffice was called to a home on East Royal Oak Road in Fairview for a wellness check. At first, there was nothing suspicious and other residents arrived to give permission to enter the home. However, the deputies had to leave right after entering because a large amount of smoke.
After waiting for the Fairview Fire Department, the deputies then found the bodies of two women inside the house and the body of a man in the garage. Police are investigating the deaths as a homicide as the person in the garage, a 54–year–old, had a pistol near him and that he may have died from a self–inflicted gunshot wound.
MSP said there is no evidence there are any suspects are at large and the public is in no danger.
