Wisniewski buries equalizer, forces draw with TC Central

ALPENA, Mich. — The Alpena Wildcats soccer team forced a 2-2 draw to Traverse City Central on Thursday at Wildcat Stadium. The Wildcats got off to a rough start, allowing two goals within the first 20 minutes of the match.

However, Alpena made some adjustments in the second half. The Wildcats brought the physicality in the last 40 minutes of regulation. The physicality led to two unanswered goals from Nicole Johnson and Reese Wisniewski. Elizabeth Thaxton and Zakyah Ellis each contributed with a goal for the Trojans.

Up next, Alpena will play three games at home this Saturday in the Sunrise Side Soccer Cup Challenge. Shrine, Cardinal Mooney Catholic, and Grosse Point South are the other three schools that will be competing in this year’s tournament. Below is the schedule:
