Szymanski’s Ready for Round Two
ALPENA, Mich. — Last Saturday, several area cross country runners from Divisions 3 and 4 punched their tickets to Brooklyn, Mich. This Saturday, they will compete in the MHSAA state finals. However, one area runner will compete this Friday. Alpena’s Madi Szymanski will be running in the Division 1 race.
The junior will be heading to Brooklyn for the second time in her high school career. In 2018, Szymanski placed 66th overall with a time of 19:17.3. Going into Friday’s race, Szymanski is ranked No. 40 (18:47) in Division 1. The girls’ Division 1 race will start at 11 a.m.
