Alpena’s 4th of July parade
ALPENA, Mich. — This land is your land – this land is my land was the sentiment at Sunday’s 4th of July parade.
It was definitely a different scene this year than the one of silence in 2020 when COVID paused many of the annual activities. Individuals lined the streets and so did vibrant and colorful floats donning different messages to show their patriotism.
A couple of people expressed what Independence day meant to them by stating it is the ability to be free and be whomever they would like. Another attendee said individuals should have equal opportunities and an equal voice as to how they see their community and nation prosper.
The parade kicked off with members of the armed services leading the procession followed by a variety of live entertainment, mascots, and included were beautiful horses.
