Alpena Man Charged With Assaulting A Woman And Trying To Prevent Her 911 Call
On Tuesday, May 9th, around 8am, Troopers from the Michigan State Alpena Post were called to the scene of an alleged domestic assault in Alpena at a residence on Michigan avenue.
According to Michigan State Police, their troopers witnessed a pickup truck leaving the scene as they arrived. The vehicle was stopped and forty one year old Kevin Kowalsky, from Alpena was identified as the suspect of the assault.
Both parties were interviewed and the victim claimed Kowalsky stole medication from her and when confronted, he became violent and assaulted her. He also attempted to grab her phone when she dialed 911.
With the assistance of the Alpena County Sheriff’s Office, Kowalsky was arrested and arraigned in 88th District court on one count domestic violence and one count interfering with electronic communications device.
His bond was set at 2,500 10% surety. His next scheduled court appearance is on May 29th, 2024 at 2:30pm
