Extra Innings: Top Play of the 2021 Season
ALPENA, Mich. — The moment you all have been waiting for. It’s time to reveal our Extra Innings Top Play of the Year.
We had six top play of the week winners plus an additional top play that I like to call the “Vander special.”
And the Extra Innings Top Play of the Year goes to the throw out at home. In a regional semifinal game against Gaylord St. Mary, Matt Wilbert fields the ball cleanly and unleashes a dart to home plate. Dylan LaFleche would do the rest as he comes away with the easy tag. Great throw. Great tag. Great play.
Out of 581 votes, over 43 percent of the viewers went with Wilbert’s throw to LaFleche. Congrats to those two on winning the Extra Innings Top Play of the Year.
