Tawas takes down Alcona in rivalry game week one

Alcona — The Tigers hosted a rivalry game week one against the Tawas Braves. Alcona lost quite a few seniors after winning the district championship in 2017.

The two teams kept the game close in the first. Tawas’ Dillon Mochty would find Camden Groff for the early 8-0 lead. Alcona countered with a Zach Stephenson quarterback keeper.

Tawas continued to chug for the 48-24 victory. Alcona came away with some positives. Tigers’ Dominic Howe carried the ball 27 times for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns. Damion Stewart led Alcona’s defense with 7 tackles.
