ThunderCats Urlaub and TC Thunder end in draw

Rogers City's Jeffra Dittmar brings home three RBI vs. TC Thunder.

ALPENA, Mich. — Alpena’s 9th Annual Thunderstruck Tournament hosted some of the top teams and players in Northern Michigan. Squads from Ogemaw, Kinglsey and more signed up to play at the High School, 14U and 12U level. Alpena’s ThunderCats Urlaub squad battled Traverse City Thunder on Friday for their first game of the tournament.

Allie Urlaub put the ThunderCats on the board in the top of the third. Her 2-RBI triple gave the ladies in green the 2-1 lead. ThunderCats add to the score in the fourth when Rogers City Huron Jeffra Dittmar drills a grounder to left bringing in 2-RBI before getting tagged out at second.

Dittmar hits the go-ahead shot in the sixth for the 6-5 lead, but the Thunder answer in the seventh with a Grace Quiggin hit. The ThunderCats Urlaub and TC Thunder end the game tied at 6-6.
