Roscommon, Alcona to square off in division 4 district soccer final

ALCONA — The group D soccer district semi finals were held Thursday evening in Alcona. The 4 p.m. matchup featured Roscommon and Whittimore-Prescott. Trey Heliin lead the way for the Bucks, scoring 3 goals and assisting 2 others as Roscommon defeated the Cardinals 8-0. MacArthur Schultz, Evan Schwartz, Luke Verbeke, and Rafael Medrano also added goals in the victory.
Alcona and Fairview kicked off at 7 p.m. to determine who Roscommon would face in the final. The Tigers defended their home turf well, only allowing one shot on goal the entire match. Josh Kilbourn scored 4 goals, Brett Nelson scored twice, while Joel Steiner and Justin Smigelski added a goal each in their 8-0 victory.
The district final will be held in Alcona at 7 p.m on Saturday.
