Langley will be trying something new

OSCODA, Mich. — Lauren Langley has been named All-Conference in both volleyball and basketball. It’s not a surprise that Langley will continue to take her athletic talents to the collegiate level. However, what may be surprising is that she will be trying something new at a Division I school. Langley has signed her National Letter of Intent as she will be rowing at the University of Michigan next fall.

It all started at an American Athletic Union basketball tournament. The rowing coaches from Ann Arbor got in touch with Langley and asked if she was interested in rowing.

“They thought I had potential to be a great rower and I got exposed to the sport,” said Langley.

Several girls are in the same situation as Langley. The newcomers will learn how to row and will be competing at the collegiate level. While Langley will be out on the water rowing, she’ll be studying Pre-Med.
