Hulverson’s 22 points leads Owls past Braves

TAWAS CITY, Mich. — Izzy Hulverson and the Oscoda Owls girls basketball were able to take care of business in Tawas as they defeated the Braves 46-38. Going into halftime, the Owls looked like they were going to cruise to the finish line when they led 26-16. However, the Braves made it an entertaining game as they outscored the Owls 16-9 in the third quarter. In the end, Tawas couldn’t pull through on their home court as they’re currently on a three-game losing streak.

Hulverson paced the Owls with 22 points; Lauren Langley added 11 points and Macy Kellstrom finished with seven.

Carley Bolen led the Braves in scoring with 19 points; Lexi Lajoice added 13 points and Olivia Wallace finished with six.

Both teams return to action on Feb. 6. Oscoda (12-3) will be in Rogers City to battle the Hurons (4-10), while Tawas (4-11) will host Whittemore-Prescott (4-9).
