Atkinson gets selected in first MHSFCA Leadership Development Alliance class

WHITTEMORE, Mich. — Recently, thirteen high school football coaches across Michigan have been chosen to be part of the first MHSFCA Leadership Development Alliance class. Whittemore-Prescott’s head football coach Tommy Atkinson is one of 13 coaches that were selected. “I’m just very excited to represent this area well,” said Atkinson.

The MHSFCA’s purpose of creating this program is to help with the professional development of coaches throughout Michigan. Atkinson says he’s looking forward to working with some of the top coaches in the state.

“One of the things I hope to get from this is to see the other methods of coaching from others and what has made them successful,” said Atkinson. “A lot of the successful coaches win because they build relationships with their kids. It’s all about getting a young person prepared to play.”

The program will begin on June 26. Below are the 13 coaches that will be participating in the MHSFCA’s program:

Tommy Atkinson – Whittemore-Prescott
Jeff Bacholzky – Almont
Trevor Dobruk – Woodhaven
Jack Ginn – Allendale

Ian ller – Redford Union
Michael Mach – Detroit Catholic Central
Kyle McElvany – Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central
