Alpena (October 11, 2018) — The Wildcat’s senior running back and CMU verbal commit, Logan Guthrie, is on the verge of breaking the career rushing record in Alpena school history. The record is held by Austin Leeck who finished the 2011 season with 2, 652 career rushing yards.
“If that happens I’d like to have that one on my shoulders,” said Guthrie. “Something to remember as and something to leave my mark at AHS.”
The Wildcats have two games left in the season, and up first the green and white face Petoskey for homecoming. Guthrie is looking for Alpena’s third win of the season first, but the record would be bitter sweet.
“He just keeps grinding,” said Head Coach Aaron Sims. “Even when he’s a little dinged up he keeps powering through and that’s really all you could ask from your guys, to give their best all the time.”
