ACC Lumberjacks Top Schoolcraft
The Alpena Community College Lumberjacks volleyball team played their season opener Saturday, September 8th. Head Coach Sarah Parsons believed this game would be a wake up call for her young team.
The Lumberjacks had great games by freshman middle hitter/blocker Shelber Seaver, sophomore outside hitter Kaylee Krussell, and freshman right side hitter Jozie Appelgren. ACC won their 1 o’clock game in straight sets 3-0 and their 3 o’clock game 3-1.
The young Lumberjacks (9 freshmen, 3 sophomores) are fast, can cover a lot of ground, and athletic. The girls all have a natural bond on the court as well. If they continue to play at this high of a level, this team could be something special.
Next up for the Lumberjacks is another home match up against Henry Ford. They play two games: one at 1 pm and the second at 3 pm.
