ALPENA, MI – The Alpena Wildcats continued Big North Conference play by hosting the Gaylord Blue Devils on Friday night. Alpena took down Gaylord by a final score of 9-1 extending their winning streak to four games.

The Wildcats (11-8) came back after the Blue Devils (3-11) took the early lead. Gaylord led 1-0 after a shot off of goalie Parker Schuldt’s stick found the back of his net. Alpena tied the game on a power play opportunity when Clark Weir scored on an assist from Luke Miller. Only 30 seconds later, Weir doubled down tallying his second goal of the game to give Alpena the lead. The shots never stopped and just a minute later, Brody Misiak extended the Wildcats lead to 3-1. With only 16 seconds left in the first period, Garrett Hamp added a shorthanded goal making it 4-1 to end the period.
