Warm and humid Wednesday, chance of showers and thunderstorms shows up late-day

Tuesday’s round of rain continued to progress north and headed out of Northeast Michigan during the afternoon. We’re feeling the higher humidity which will last for the next couple of days. The next storm system, currently over Montana, will move to the east. It will bring a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms beginning Wednesday afternoon.

If you’re going to do anything outdoors Wednesday, do it in the morning. The weather looks more unsettled for the afternoon and evening. Thursday will begin rainy, pouring rain will taper to lighter showers. Then drier conditions will move in Thursday evening. We’ll see clearing skies Friday, giving way to a bright weekend.

Dew points rose to the 60s today, making the air feel more humid. Humidity levels will remain high Wednesday and Thursday. Then dew points will drop to the 50s, so it’ll feel more comfortable Friday into the weekend.

High temperatures today got up to 76 degrees in Alpena. Notice the warmer temperatures out to the west, Green Bay reached 83 degrees and Minneapolis had a high of 87 degrees. Those warmer temperatures are on the way in for Wednesday.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy through midday, then a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop late-day. Warmer and feeling humid. Predawn temperatures will head down to about 61 degrees. Temperatures will rise to the middle 70s in the late-morning. Afternoon highs will warm to 85 degrees. Evening temperatures will go into the 70s.

Thursday: Rainy, steadiest early. Early-morning lows will be close to 65 degrees. Afternoon highs will reach around 80 degrees. Evening temperatures will cool from the middle 70s to upper 60s.

Friday: Cloud cover early, clearing, some afternoon sunshine. Early-morning lows will head down to 60 degrees. Afternoon highs will get up to near 76 degrees. Evening temperatures will head into the lower 70s and 60s.
