Rain overnight, then clearing before the weekend

A storm system bringing severe weather to parts of Wisconsin will continue to move east. It will not produce severe weather near Alpena, but it will bring soaking rain overnight to Thursday morning. Then drier air out of the northwest will quickly follow, drying out Thursday afternoon-evening.

High temperatures Wednesday heated up to 88 degrees in Alpena. Harrisville and Tawas City were a little cooler, near 80 degrees. Winds out of the north will make Thursday’s temperatures a little cooler across the board.

Highs Thursday will reach the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Highs Friday will also be in the upper 70s. Then warmer temperatures will head in over the weekend. Highs will warm up to about 80 degrees Saturday, then middle 80s Sunday.

Thursday: Rain and a risk of thunderstorms predawn to midday, then drying out. Predawn lows will be near 65 degrees. Afternoon highs will get up to around 79 degrees. Evening temperatures will fall from the lower 70s to 60s.

Friday: Decreasing clouds will give way to afternoon sunshine. Early-morning lows will head down to about 58 degrees. Afternoon highs will reach close to 77 degrees. Evening temperatures will go into the lower 70s and 60s.

Saturday: Sunny, be sure to have plenty of water and reapply sunscreen for any plans outdoors. Early-morning temperatures will begin near 57 degrees. Afternoon highs will warm to about 80 degrees. Evening temperatures will head into the 70s and upper 60s.
