Rainy Thursday; Brighter and warmer this weekend

Earlier today, an isolated severe thunderstorm developed near Mio, sparked by an advancing cold front. Most areas, however, have remained dry and humid.

High temperatures today reached the mid-80s, except near the shoreline where a breeze out of the east kept afternoon temperatures in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees.

Tomorrow, plenty of moisture currently located to our south will get drawn northward. Approximately ¼-½ inch of rain is forecast to fall onto our area.

Although the morning will start dry with increasing clouds, periods of rain will spread in during the early afternoon, lasting through the evening hours. Despite the rain, afternoon temperatures will warm close to the 80 degree mark.

After some wet weather tomorrow, more sunshine will brighten the skies on Friday as afternoon highs warm into the lower 80s. A great weekend for any outdoor plans is on the way, plenty of sunshine and afternoon highs in the lower 80s are expected.
