Sunshine this weekend; Chance of rain Monday-Tuesday

Periods of showers have moved into areas south of Alpena, mainly falling onto Ogemaw, Iosco and Oscoda counties. A chance of scattered showers will remain through most of this evening. Tomorrow and over the weekend, drier weather currently to our northwest will move into the area.


High temperatures earlier today warmed into the lower 80s across the area. Similar high temperatures are forecast tomorrow and through the weekend.

Tomorrow will feature partly cloudy skies and a pleasant breeze out of the north around 10 mph. The day will start with morning temperatures in the mid-60s. Temperatures will warm to the lower 80s in the afternoon, and remain mild in the evening as temperatures cool to the mid-70s.

After tomorrow, skies will continue to be filled with sunshine over the weekend. High temperatures are forecast to reach 81 degrees on Saturday and 84 degrees on Sunday. By late Monday, the next chance of rain will move into Northeast Michigan, followed by cooler temperatures.
