Pets of The Week: Betty, Sir, and Friends

This week’s segment of Pets of The Week takes us to the Alpena Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Shelter to meet some of their adoptable dogs. If you’re looking for the cuddliest and sweetest Valentine, be sure to stay tuned.

Our first adoptable pup is Betty. Betty is a two year old (age estimated) pittie mix that is looking for someone to love her for the rest of her life! Her ideal Valentine date would involve lots of snuggles and toys, but no chocolates please J Betty came to the shelter after being found on the side of the road where it was determined she had been hit by a car and was in serious condition. But after veterinary care, love from the shelter staff, and her perseverance, she is back in commission and ready to be adopted. She fought so hard and is now ready to spend her days playing and loving her future family.

Next up is Sir. Sir is a bull dog mix and is about five years old. His ideal Valentine date would be a movie night in, where he can hang out on the couch with his people and eat some treat. We will warn if you are planning on a kiss this Valentine’s Day, that Sir is a sloppy kisser, but makes up for that with his love and talent. He has impressed shelter staff with his training and has a very convincing polar bear impression.

Our two featured pets are accompanied by Odin, Lenny, and Ice which are also looking for a Valentines Date for life. Lenny is a beagle with a heart of gold that will tippy tappy his way into your heart. He’s an older lad that is experienced in being your best friend, and will fit right in with the family! Odin may be tiny, but his heart is huge! He would like to be the only dog in your household, and would do great with just one human in the house—he’ll be your best friend, just watch out, because he can style a sweater like no other! Finally, we have Ice. Ice is a pittie pup that was so excited to be on camera, he got the zoomies! Ice is beautiful inside and out, with Ice-y blue eyes, and a passion for belly rubs. He’s a snuggle bug that will steal your heart in seconds.

All dogs from The Alpena County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Center are fully vaccinated, fixed, and ready to take home. If interested in scheduling a meet and greet, you can call them at 989–884–2248.
