MICHIGAN– There’s still time to make your mark on the Michigan DNR’s centennial birthday.

And we’re being quite literal. The patch for this year’s contest is shaped like the number 100.

Anyone across the state of Michigan can submit their design for the patch’s illustration until April 23.

The DNR will notify the winner in June.

DNR spokesperson Emilie O’Grady says even kids can send in designs.

“We’ve had 90-year-olds, we’ve had 5-year-olds submit a design. The only thing to remember is if you are under the age of 13, make sure you get that parental permission signature on the back of your artwork.”

O’Grady says the DNR provides annual patches to deer hunters as a thank–you for deer population maintenance.

More programs and activities for the Department’s hundredth anniversary are in store.
