Feeling like a typical July weekend

High temperatures Friday got up to 78 degrees in Alpena and West Branch, Michigan, much closer to typical values for early July. A light breeze off Lake Huron made temperatures a little cooler near the shoreline where highs reached 68 degrees in Harrisville, Michigan and 71 degrees in Rogers City, Michigan.

Humidity levels will continue to feel comfortable over the weekend with dew points in the 50s. Then dew points will increase to the 60s so it will feel more humid Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

All of Saturday will stay dry, as will most of Sunday with increasing clouds. Then showery weather will move from the Plains and into our area Sunday night or early Monday. So the chance of showers will begin to increase Sunday night and become a little higher on Monday.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Predawn lows will drop to around 50 degrees. Afternoon highs will warm to near 78 degrees. Evening temperatures will go into the lower 70s and 60s.

Sunday: Morning sunshine, increasing clouds, then a few showers possible at night. Early-morning lows will head down to about 54 degrees. Afternoon highs will reach close to 76 degrees. Evening temperatures will cool from near 70 degrees to the 60s.

Monday: Scattered showers and a risk of thunderstorms. Early-morning temperatures will begin near 60 degrees. Afternoon highs will get up to around 74 degrees. Evening temperatures will be close to 70 degrees or the upper 60s.

Temperatures will likely get warmer Tuesday. For the rest of Northeast Michigan’s weather forecast, watch the latest weather video by clicking the weather tab at the top of the page.
