City of Alpena reviews proposed fire service contract with township
ALPENA, Mich. – Alpena’s City Council has reviewed and sent the township’s fire services contract back to township officials.
Alpena Township Trustees proposed to pay the city $387,500 for their services.
However, the council countered and voted to charge the township $400,000 a year for 15 years.
Alpena Township Board of Trustees met early Tuesday and agreed to hold a special meeting on June 17 to discuss specifics of the city’s confer offer.
Nathan Skibbe told WBKB that the board is planning a question and answer forum for residents very soon.
