Plans for 4th of July in Harrisville

ALPENA, Mich. — Residents looking to enjoy the 4th of July in Harrisville can get there without detours on their route.

Chamber President Ben Dietrich said construction on US–23 will be suspended prior to the Fourth of July.

Dietrich said the annual duck race and firework display will happen at the harbor.  He said they are close to their fireworks goal, but still need the community’s help fundraising.

Dietrich adds that duck race winners will win large prizes and people can purchase tickets for ducks online or at the Harrisville Harbor Grocery.
