Bay Athletic Club Celebrates Completion of “Thinner Winner”

“Thinner Winner” has concluded at Bay Athletic Club, and those who participated celebrated their achievements on Friday evening at bay urban.

25 teams all held each other accountable for living a healthy lifestyle, whether that is eating healthier, working out more, or even drinking more water.

“Sometimes people look at their health journey as this mountain to climb and you’re never going to get to ideally where you want to be, so a five–week competition like this allows people to climb a little hill and to celebrate themselves at the top,” said Bay Athletic Club owner Trina Gray.

The habits people develop while participating in Thinner Winner don’t just last for those five weeks; they are habits people will use for life.

“When I see my teammates going, ‘hey, we were at the gym today, where were you at?’ and kind of take a photo outside, so the accountability of going to the gym, ramping that up, but then that extra step of no pop, no fast food, the eating habits that really help you dial in to get to the next level is what it’s all about,” said Robert Barrigar, who participated in Thinner Winner.

People of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds were able to participate in Thinner Winner and make a difference in their lives.

“It was great;” said Bryanna Partyka, a Thinner Winner participant. “We grew a lot closer, and got to have quality time and just cheer each other on, and it was just something we could all get together and just do better, make better decisions.”

Celebrating their accomplishments is an important element of the Thinner Winner process as well.

“As adults, it’s really hard to still – you’re not going to win a spelling bee, you’re not going to get an ‘A’ grade as a 42–year–old parent or a 65–year old grandparent, but we can offer recognition to people in our community for changing their habits and getting healthier, and I’m all about it,” said Gray.

People got together at Bay Urban, enjoyed charcuterie snacks and celebrated each other’s company at the end of five weeks of hard work.
