Alpena Opens Online Survey for Thoughts on Culligan Plaza

A mockup drawing of what the city was planning for Culligan Plaza received heavy criticism from the public.

That design was never meant to be a final decision and gathering more opinions from the public will give the city a better idea of what people want. When the city first installed Culligan Plaza, it was agreed that the space would always feature some kind of water fixture.

The new design proposed also includes a tower but depending on answers from those surveyed, it may go away. “A lot of the people have had an opinion to this point and we would like them to continue to give us their thoughts so that we can gather all of those,” said Cindy Johnson, mayor pro-tem of Alpena. “We’re working with Drost from Petoskey. They’re landscape architects. Based on feedback that we get, they’ll come up with a couple of designs that we can look at.”

The survey is open until September 30 and the link can found here.
