Alcona County hosting COVID-19 panel discussion

LINCOLN, Mich. – Alcona County residents will soon have a chance to get more facts about COVID–19 vaccines.

A panel discussion to educate and let residents ask questions about vaccine efforts in the community is set for April 7th from 7-9 pm.

One organizer said it will allow people to hear from experts and make the best informed decisions for themselves.

“The thought behind it is, to get out information, factual information, not anything that’s made up, not in the court of public opinion or Facebook, but just factual information from experts,” said organizer and Alcona County Commission On Aging Executive Director Lenny Avery.

Panelists include medical doctors, staff from the health department and faith leaders from the community.

The panel will be held at Alcona High School’s auditorium from 7 to 9 p.m. with limited seating available.

“We have maximum seating for about 150 people and social distancing within the school’s auditorium,” said Avery.

Avery said to be on the lookout for more information about the panel. Eventually, the ACCOA’s Facebook page and website will be updated so that residents can submit questions to addressed at the panel.
