Alpena MI – Today we saw a clipper move through the area, most areas picked up about an inch or two of snow out of it. The big story that we are all concerned about is the winter storm for Friday and Saturday, we are talking about a foot of snow after this is all set and done. Tonight we will be mostly cloudy with lows in the lower 20s. Winds will be north at 10 mph. Tomorrow snow will be developing in the area, especially in the afternoon hours, winds will pick up as the afternoon goes along. Highs will top out in the lower to middle 30s, winds will be out of the east at 20-30 mph with gusts over 50 mph especially in the overnight hours. Snowfall totals are estimated to be around 8-12 inches, along the coastal line there may be lesser amount because there will be rain mixed in along with it. Then cold air moves in on Sunday and we will see the coldest air of the season next week.
