Two Dead Following Head-on Collision on US-23
Two are dead following a traffic accident on US-23 in Alpena Township on Monday night.
According to Michigan State Police, a Dodge Ram truck was heading southbound when it crossed over the center line and collided head on with a Chevy Avalanche heading in the other direction. A witness said the Ram was going over the speed limit and weaving before the crash.
One of two passengers in the Ram, a 19–year–old, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and his other passenger were brought to MyMichigan Medical Center for non–life–threatening injuries. The driver of the Avalanche was also taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
