Todd Smalenberg New Candidate For The 106th District

On Wednesday June 21st, Todd Smalenberg announced his candidacy for state representative on Trucker Randy’s 97.7 fm radio station. the current State Representative for the 106th district is Cameron Cavitt. He was elected Michigan House of Representative in September 8, 2022 and has been in office since then.

While on the radio show, Todd stressed the importance of strong leadership and how he will bring real common sense back to Lansing, Todd said,  “They’re up there passing bills that are having no impact on law abiding citizens. To where it’s protecting us, it’s actually hurting us with these so called ‘common sense bills’.” Todd adds, “There is no common sense in having the safe storage act, where people have their houses broken into at three o’clock in the morning and your trying to get into a locked box to protect yourself and your family. That’s not common sense, I’ll bring real common sense to it. I’ll go after the criminals that commit the crimes, not the law abiding citizens that have done nothing but to try and to raise their family on a daily basis.”

Todd Smalenberg is a retired U.S. Marine who has deployed in 5 tours and was also apart of a counter–drug operation in South America. He’s also done work for the Department of Defense for a classified intelligence, reconnaissance, and surveillance program. Todd explains how his military career will help him run for office, “I’m used to being able to lead and be able to get the objective. I know mission accomplishment, I’ve always have been able to achieve that. So, when I set my mind to it, with my leadership, my aggressiveness and my discipline I get things done. So, what I want to do is take that leadership and take it to Lansing and make sure the people are reminded that we’re there to represent our constituents.”

Todd Slamenberg entered the race just before the General Election in Michigan, which is set to begin on August 8th from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
