The Home Depot Helps Upgrade All Saints Friendship Room

The All Saints Parish Charity lends a helping hand through food donations, baby pantry, children’s closet, and warming center, this is all supported through community donations, with The Home Depot being the latest organization to give back. Jerry Plohocky, community captain at The Home Depot Alpena said, “Well we’re just very very pleased that we’re able to go in and help the community. The Home Depot Foundation in Atlanta Georgia is very generous and supportive of what our community needs, and this is just another one that we had a partnership with, and we’re very happy to get this project to unfold.”

Along with The Home Depot team, a group of volunteers helped swiftly assemble donated shelving units to bring the food pantry to life. Christina Kihn, Center of Charity director said, “The shelving units that they had provided, oh gosh, will help so many people get food within the community.”

The Friendship Room has been in operation for thirty five years and will now have sturdy structures to store food donations. Randy MacAulay, director of the Friendship Room said, “I just want people to know that in addition to every other hunger relief agency in Alpena, the soup kitchen, The Friendship Room as it’s known, provide that meal six days a week.”

The Friendship Room is located at the All Saints Center of Charity right next to the St. Bernard Church on West Chisholm Street.
