Senior year hits home for local college student

ALPENA, Mich.— For many college seniors like Nick Poli the last year of college is an exciting yet anxious time to look forward to. Poli is a student at Central Michigan University studying fashion, environmental polices and journalism.

The college senior only had one class standing between him and graduation until schools were forced to close . Many universities and local colleges are requiring students to complete courses work remotely.

Large gatherings are prohibited under the Stay Home, Stay Safe Executive Order which means walking across the stage for graduation might not happen. Poli hopes to work in the fashion industry designing men’s wear.

The aspiring designer says, “Its upsetting not participating in the annual school fashion show, but hopes to move to a big city displaying his clothing.”
