SBA announces loans for local small businesses

ALPENA, Mich. — For local small businesses looking to meet their financial obligations, the Small Business Association offers working capital loans to help.  These loans are available for Michigan counties including Alpena, Cheboygan, and Montmorency.

SBA Public Affairs Specialist, Kathy Cook, said the Secretary of Agriculture declared a disaster for farmers and ranchers back in July 2020.  The disaster was the result of excessive rains and high winds which cook said had a direct effect on small businesses.  Cook added when farmers are hurting economically, businesses and the farming community suffer.

Small businesses can apply now and have until August 2, 2021.
