Presque Isle Lighthouse youth art contest

ALPENA, Mich. — The Presque Isle Township Museum Society is hosting an art contest and they are looking for youth to participate this year.  Youth in kindergarten through eight grade are invited to submit their best drawings and paintings.

President Vicki Wright said they get visitors from all over the country and she feels young artists look at things in new and fresh ways.  The museum wants people of this generation and the future to know the importance of the lighthouses.

Wright said they are looking for two–dimensional work using pastels, pencils, crayons, paint, glitter,  markers and more.  They are asking for digitally created work.

Artwork must be submitted via email between May 29 through August 14.
