Potential meteor ignites Southern Michigan sky
A potential meteor lit up the sky in Southern Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio this evening just before 9:00pm. The National Weather Service in Detroit confirmed that it was not thunder or lighting but most likely a meteor. WBKB is still working on confirmation that this was in fact a meteor and will keep you updated as details continue to come in.

After reviewing several observational datasets, the NWS can confirm the flash and boom was NOT thunder or lightning, but instead a likely meteor. We continue to monitor feeds from astronomical agencies for official confirmation of a meteor. #miwx
