Near 90 degree heat by Thursday

High temperatures today reached the middle to upper 80s across most of the state. Temperatures got up to 86 degrees in Alpena, 87 degrees in Detroit, 89 degrees in Ironwood. Traverse City was the hot spot at 92 degrees. Temperatures will continue to be very warm over the next several days.

Wednesday will be sunny and warm. High temperatures will reach about 86 degrees in Alpena. A light breeze from the southeast, off of Lake Huron, will keep temperatures a touch cooler at the shoreline. Highs will be near 81 degrees in Harrisville and Tawas City. Locations along M-33 will heat up to around 90 degrees, which is the forecast high in Mio.

High temperatures Wednesday afternoon will be in the middle 80s for most places. A northwest breeze that will have no influence off of Lake Huron will result in hotter temperatures Thursday. Afternoon highs are expected to heat up into the lower 90s! Friday and Saturday, highs will be in the upper 80s. Temperatures will get close to 90 degrees again Sunday afternoon.

Wednesday: Sunny and warm. Predawn lows will cool to the middle 50s. By the late-morning, temperatures will rise to the upper 70s. Temperatures will be around 86 degrees in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain warm, in the lower to middle 80s, throughout the early-evening.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and even hotter. Predawn temperatures will be close to 90 degrees. Temperatures will warm to around 80 degrees by the late morning. Afternoon temperatures will soar to about 91 degrees. Early-evening temperatures will be very warm, in the lower to middle 80s.

Friday: Partly cloudy and very warm. Temperatures will start in the middle 60s predawn. Late-morning temperatures will rise to the middle 70s. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 80s. Temperatures will remain in the lower 80s heading into the early-evening.
