Locals Prepare for Memorial Day Giving Little Flanders Field a Makeover

Now that the weather is warmer, a lot of outdoor repairs can be completed including gravesites. Preparing for Memorial Day, members of the community took time out of their busy schedule to fix up Little Flanders Field.

The annual groundwork participants this year included the MSP Alpena Post, local businesses, and the Marine Corp League. Trooper, Ashley Simpson said updating the crosses was a great way to learn about locals who gave their life in the line of duty.

Frank Rosinski of the Marine Corp League in Alpena said he’s proud to see members of the community paying their respects by providing a nice face-lift to those who have served.
