Local shop’s RV sales skyrocket
ALPENA, Mich. — Lodging is looking a little different these days as individuals and families are trading in hotel stays for RV’s.
COVID–19 has placed a halt on many 2020 summer plans but for some, this is just the beginning of creating new unforgettable memories.
Co–owner of Sports Unlimited, Doreen Kriniak, said RV sales usually begin when the weather gets nice but they skyrocketed in July.
Kriniak feels the pandemic has had a huge influence on this years uptick in sales.
Many of Kriniak’s retired customers use RV’s as cottages and drive to warmer climates during the winter months but this year she’s seeing an increase in use with the younger generation.
This hotel vehicle combo comes equipped with theater seats that have heat and vibrate, a kitchen, and flat screen television and the price tag is only $23,000.
