Local man reflects on friendship and loss
ALPENA, Mich. — The devastation that struck a local family last week claiming two brother’s lives in a barn fire has not only left family heartbroken but also close friends.
Edward Gatzke said he met Mike Polluch through Mike’s now deceased older brother, Steve Polluch.
Gatzke says Steve initiated a guys night out six years ago at the 19th-Hole in Alpena which is where the two hit it off.
Gatzke also shared how difficult this loss has been for him.
He said he met Mike’s brother, Jim Polluch, only once. Gatzke reflected on his friend’s legacy and had nothing but great things to say.
Memorial services will be held for both brothers at Bannan Funeral Home later this week.
