Is CBD A Good Alternative To Traditional Medicine?

So far in the United States recreational marijuana is only legal in 24 states, Michigan being one of them. With the legalization of recreational marijuana came studies about the potential health benefits of THC and CBD. However, CBD is more commonly accepted because it doesn’t come with the side affect of making you feel “high”. Andreas Hantzis, a bud tender at Neighborhood Provisions provides a brief explanation of what CBD is.

Andreas said, “So, CBD also known as cannabidiol is the non psychoactive part of cannabis. We kind of call it the medical beauty part, this is where we get a lot of our medicinal pain relieving properties as well as kind of anti–anxiety and depression fighting properties from. It’s not psychoactive but it definitely makes you feel better.”

While there is a positive correlation between medical benefit and CBD, there are a lot of people who are afraid of using CBD gummies, CBD lotion or even the vapor form because of it’s close relation to THC. but despite the research that verifies the medical benefits, is it a good and healthy alternative to traditional medicine. Andreas stated, “Some of these really bad opioids are really damaging for your liver, cannabis is the natural substance. While everything should be used under guidance from a doctor, we like to say it’s the safest thing out there in terms of medicine and what you can put into your body.”

Andreas also said this, “Your body should be a temple, it’s something you should treat with the upmost respect and just take care of it the best way you can. So, when you start adding things like serious opioids or even benzodiazephines can really start messing with that natural chemistry your body has.”

If you are considering CBD as an alternative pain, stress or anxiety reliever, please consult your doctor first to see if it’s a right fit for you. If you also have any further questions then be sure to visit Andreas at Neighborhood Provisions with any questions you may have.
