Humidity remains high Tuesday, chance of spotty thunderstorms

Along with the high humidity Monday, a few spotty showers and thunderstorms developed. Those will taper overnight and Tuesday morning is also looking dry. We’ll have another chance of spotty showers and thunderstorms flaring up around midday Tuesday.

Futurecast shows a partly cloudy start to Tuesday morning. Then a few showers and thunderstorms could develop around midday, continuing into the afternoon. That round of showers/thunderstorms looks to diminish Tuesday evening. Wednesday should be dry for eastern areas, near US-23. There could be a spotty shower Wednesday for areas farther west, closer to M-33.

Temperatures Monday heated up to 90 degrees in Alpena, 83 degrees in Saginaw, Michigan and 89 degrees in Traverse City, Michigan. Just about all of the Midwest had temperatures reach the 80s and 90s. Warm, muggy weather will continue Tuesday.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy and a chance of showers or thunderstorms midday-afternoon. Early-morning lows will cool to about 64 degrees. Afternoon highs will get up to near 83 degrees, and it will continue to feel humid. Afternoon temperatures will be warmer with highs in the upper 80s for areas farther west, and a little cooler with highs in the upper 70s along the Lake Huron shoreline. Evening temperatures will head into the 70s.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy (chance of spotty showers for western areas). Predawn lows will be close to 62 degrees. Afternoon highs will reach about 79 degrees. Evening temperatures will drop off to the lower 70s and 60s.

Thursday: Partly cloudy, feeling fresher in the morning. Predawn lows will head down to around 55 degrees. High temperatures will reach close to 76 degrees in the late-afternoon. Evening temperatures will head into the lower 70s and 60s.
