HILLMAN, MI- When you reach the district tournament and your season ends with a single loss, it is always good to send an ace out to the mound.
Hillman Senior AJ Jones was unhittable in round one of the District 103 tournament as he struck out 13 Atlanta Huskies as he threw a no hitter in Hillman’s 10-0 victory. With the victory Hillman advances to the district semi-final, where they will take on Rogers City on Saturday.
The Hillman bats gave their ace plenty of run support in this one as the Tigers scored one in the first, four times in the third and five more times in the fourth. Brendan Rouleau recorded two hits and scored two runs on the afternoon. He also drove in two more. Second baseman Evan Crane added two hits, and First Baseman Braylon Firman added two RBI’s for the Tigers.
The District 103 semi-finals and finals will take place on Saturday. Hillman and Rogers City get play started at 10:00 am. Posen and Onaway will meet in the second semi final at 12:00 pm. The two winners will meet in the final at 2:30. Hillman will host all three games.
