Hillman and Posen Set to Meet in Boys Basketball District Final
HILLMAN, MI – The MHSAA boys’ basketball District 105 semifinals took place in Hillman on Wednesday night. Posen and Hale opened play for the day, and Hillman versus Mio followed as the four teams battled for a spot in the District final.
After defeating Atlanta 60-17 on Monday, the Hale Eagles (13-11) met the Posen Vikings (14-9) in the semifinals. Logan Timm proved why he broke the MHSAA single-season steals record as he led the Vikings to a 41-32 win. Brady McCadie tallied up the majority of Hale’s points keeping it a close game throughout the night.
The Hillman Tigers (21-2) followed taking on the Mio Thunderbolts (11-13) later in the night. It became a battle in the first half, but Hillman put together a perfect second half to secure the 59-46 victory. Both teams top scorers put on a show the entire game. Kostas Archo led Mio with 38 points overall and Trenton Taratuta finished with 39 points for the win.
Hillman advances to the District final where they will meet Posen. Tip-off from Hillman is set for Friday at 7 p.m.
