Go fishing for “Downtown Dollars” during Alpena’s sidewalk sales this summer
ALPENA, Mich. – We’re one day away from Brown Trout and Alpena’s Downtown Development Authority wants to make sure you’re ready to shop all weekend.
The DDA wants you to fish for downtown dollars.
The promotion is a spin off of the DDA’s sidewalk sales event.
Starting tomorrow through Saturday people can shop around town at 27 participating businesses.
While shopping, you can fish for dollars for your chance at some extra perks.
“There will be a fish bowl with fish in it,” said DDA Marketing & Outreach Coordinator Kingsli Craft. “We’re just kind of hoping to draw up some more excitement for all of downtown and bring people to circulate all of downtown we have so many businesses.”
Fishing dollars will come in increments of 5,10 and 100 dollars.
However, there’s a catch – if you find a rainbow trout, it’ll have to be thrown back into the fish bowl as it has no value so, choose wisely.
