Go Fetch Pet Supply Opens in Alpena

Go Fetch Pet Supply is a local business that just opened up in Alpena on Friday, a store for all things people need for their pets.

From food to toys to medicine and more, the need for a pet store in Alpena was felt by owner Kari Chamberlain.

“It was definitely needed, or wanted I think, so everyone in the area has just mentioned — that has walked through the door – has actually mentioned, ‘I’m so glad, we really wanted to see a pet store here, and we really needed it,’ so that just kind of some confirmation,” she said.

Chamberlain had been away from northeast Michigan for quite some time, *and* away from working with animals, so when she had the opportunity to do both, she seized it.

“I just kind of decided that I like the area and I was kind of getting tired of living out of suitcases and hotels and just wanted to give it a break for a little bit and had heard that there was an opportunity for a pet supply store, so I kind of wanted to come back into the animal industry and I thought it would be a perfect opportunity,” she said.

Their first day of business was Friday, and there was a consistent flow of customers, a supportive community that loves its local businesses.

“It was steady traffic;” said Chamberlain. “Everybody in Alpena is so welcoming, it was great. It was a lot of fun meeting everybody, seeing some old faces. But yeah, Friday was steady and it was a great soft opening, so we’ll plan on doing another grand opening probably later in the spring.”

Go Fetch Pet Supply is looking forward to serving the Alpena area for years to come.
