5th Down: Week Three
It’s another week of high school football which means it’s time for another 5th Down. WBKB Sports visited several schools around the area to catch all of the week three action.
The Posen Vikings (3-0) welcomed in their rivals on Thursday night. The Vikings grabbed the 46-0 victory over the Hillman Tigers (0-3). Posen travels to face Charlton Heston (0-3) on September 15 at 7 p.m. The Tigers welcome the Alcona Tigers (2-1) on September 15 at 7 p.m.
The Alpena Wildcats (1-2) hosted Sanford Meridian (1-2) in their Military Appreciation game. The Wildcats and Mustangs went to overtime. Alpena fell to the Mustangs by a final score of 26-20. The Wildcats host the Cadillac Vikings (2-1) on September 15 at 7 p.m.
The Mio Thunderbolts (1-2) took a trip to face the Atlanta Huskies (1-2) on Friday night. The Huskies defeated Mio by a final score of 48-24. Mio is scheduled to visit the Onaway Cardinals (2-1) on September 16 at 1 p.m. and the Huskies host Rogers City on September 14.
The Whittemore-Prescott Cardinals (2-1) took down the Charlton Heston Patriots by a final score of 44-38. The Au Gres-Sims Wolverines (3-0) defeated the Rogers City Hurons (1-2) by a score of 64-14. Coming up next week, the Cardinals visit Au Gres-Sims on September 15 at 7 p.m and the Hurons travel to Atlanta on September 14 at 7 p.m.
