Former Bunkmate of Brad Srebnik Claims the Defendant Admitted to Killing Abby Hill

The trial of Brad Srebnik, accused of killing to women, continued on Wednesday.

Following more testimony from associate Joshua Wirgau, former acquaintance Jessica Sheldon was called as a witness. She said Srebnik had lied to her about his knowing of Brynn Bills and eventually it became more and more clear that he was not telling the truth. “Brad had me totally convinced that he knew nothing about that girl and I trusted him. We trusted him,” she said.

(1/31/24) Defendant Brad Srebnik speaks with his defense team during trial.

Also taking the stand on Wednesday, a former bunkmate of Srebnik while they were incarcerated, Turner Terry, a convicted drug dealer. He claims that on April 18, 2022, Srebnik admitted to him that he had been the one to kill Abby Hill. “He said, ‘ you don’t understand. I care about her a lot, but I had to do it. I had to kill her’,” Terry said.

Defense Attorney Patrick Cherry tried to point out the jury the fact a letter had been written to the judge in Terry’s case from the prosecutor regarding his cooperation in this trial, possibly inferring he was getting something out of his testimony. Terry said he’s coming forward because it’s the right thing to do.

At one point during Wednesday’s hearing, Cherry called for a mistrial over testimony given by one of the other witnesses, however Judge Alan Curtis denied the request.

The trial continues on Thursday.
