The Aliferis Race is hosted by the Development Council at MidMichigan Medical – Alpena. Events include Duathlon (26 mile bike race + 5K), 5K Run, Bike Race (26 mile gravel grinder), Bike Tour (6 miles), and 1-mile Run/Walk.
The race is open to runners, walkers and bikers of all ages and ability levels. It is named in memory of longtime Alpena General Hospital Pathologist, Peter Aliferis, M.D. His work at the hospital of 37 years touched the lives of many people, and the race is in appreciation of his contributions to the hospital and to the community.
