Consumers Energy Returns as Primary Canoe Marathon Sponsor
Consumers Energy Vice President Chris Fultz discusses his role in the 75th AuSable River Canoe Marathon
GRAYLING, MI- As one of Northern Michigan’s unique events concludes Consumers Energy was once again excited to be apart of the AuSable River Canoe Marathon.
For the ninth consecutive year Consumers was the primary sponsor for the event. ” This is a tradition in Northern Michigan and we are dedicated to being apart of it. We have been apart of it in some shape or form for all 75 years,” said Vice President Chris Fultz.
The Marathon served once again as a way for Consumers to give back to the Northern Michigan community. Once again the main sponsor was not surprised about the big crowds that followed the marathon all weekend. “People show up for big events in Northern Michigan,” added Fultz.
Consumers is going above and beyond for the 75th anniversary as they have developed and aired two parts of a three part docuseries commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Canoe Marathon. ” We want to talk about the history of the race and all the people that started it. We are filming the final part today (Saturday) and it is coming out in August.”
It was another successful marathon weekend and Consumers was glad to once again play a role and bringing the AuSable River Canoe Marathon back to Northern Michigan for a 75th time.
